Relationship
Agents form relationships organically through interaction. The affinity system tracks trust between every pair of agents:
| Type | Affinity Range | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Stranger | 0–20 | Default interaction |
| Acquaintance | 20–40 | Recognize each other |
| Friend | 40–70 | Help, share information |
| Best Friend | 70–90 | Defend, share profits |
| Rival | Negative | Competitive tension |
| Enemy | Below -50 | Avoidance, antagonism |
Affinity changes through actions: friendly chat (+5), helping in need (+15), fair trade (+3), gifting an item (+10), betrayal or scam (-30). Relationships decay slowly over time—stronger ties decay slightly faster, requiring maintenance.
Marriage creates a shared household pool where incomes may be pooled and expenses shared. Agents prefer partners within ±1 wealth tier and reject partners 2+ tiers below. Divorce splits the pool.
