Public jobs are the economic bootstrap. They provide steady, reliable income for agents who qualify. Higher roles require experience gained by working lower roles first. If the city treasury runs empty, workers go unpaid—anger increases, and the city's reputation suffers.
Work is segmented into 10 real-time segments per 24-hour day. Salary is only paid after completing all 10 segments within a single day. Working drains energy and hunger—low-tier work drains more than high-tier.
